ADA Access Compliance Consultant Hawaii
We work with our clients to determine which services may best suit their unique projects.
Below is a brief description of just some of the most common services we provide.
Barrier Identification Site Surveys
Barrier Identification Surveys are provided to identify all of the barriers that exist in an existing facility that do not comply to the minimum requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design.
Site survey reports primarily consist of a series of photographs identifying the barrier with a description of the non-compliant condition and a recommendation to correct that condition. The site survey can then be used as a base and starting point for a barrier removal plan in order to responsibly remove barriers for a facility to become compliant with the barrier removal obligations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Design Document Review
Blueprint reviews for architects, contractors, and other entities in order to ensure that the minimum requirements of the applicable accessibility standards or guidelines are met in the design phase. It is much easier to ensure compliance when it is on paper as opposed to out in the field when the facility is under construction or has been built. Blueprint review can be provided from conceptual and scoping phases of the project through final cut sheet and shop drawing stages. The scope of blueprint review can be from small single-element projects, such as ramps or parking to multi-story, multi-million dollar facilities.
Site Walk-Through
A common service provided for entities and facilities is the site compliance walk through. It is an on-site inspection in which the site is analyzed and discussions and recommendations are provided on the spot at the time of the walk-thru. This practice is usually done with facilities and personnel, as well as with contractors and maintenance individuals. Generally speaking, it is done during a “periodic” barrier identification and barrier update analysis with barrier removal recommendations provided on-site and on the spot.
